Dormant Accounts

An account becomes inactive when there has been no activity in that account for a period of 6 months. If there is no activity for an additional 18 months the account becomes dormant. This account is not accessible through Online or Telephone Banking until it has been reactivated in one of the following ways:

Personal Accounts:

  • Make a deposit, transfer, withdrawal or make a bill payment at Columbia Valley Credit Union at a teller
  • Written or verbal request (in person) to activate account, no transaction required

Business Accounts:

  • Make a deposit, transfer, withdrawal or make a bill payment at Columbia Valley Credit Union at a teller
  • Written or verbal request (in person) to activate account, no transaction required. This applies to 1 signature accounts only
  • Written request to activate account, no transaction required. This applies to 2 signature accounts only

A letter will be issued once an account has reached dormant status. If there is no response a dormant fee of $3.00 per month will be applied to the account (starting the following month).
