Bursaries

Calling all high school and post-secondary students in Golden and the Columbia Valley! Columbia Valley Credit Union wants to help you with the costs of your post-secondary education. Each year, we offer 4 bursaries for a total of $10,000 to help local students pursue their post-secondary education goals and dreams.

Each award is $2,500 and, to be eligible, the student or student's parents must be a member of Columbia Valley Credit Union.

Scholarships

The Credit Union Foundation of B.C. also awards scholarships of up to $3,000 per student. The primary criteria for this program is financial need. Further information on the scholarships can be found online at the Credit Union Foundation of BC website.

Community donations & sponsorships

If your organization, event, or cause is looking for a donation or sponsorship from CVCU, we ask you to do the following:

• Please download and complete our Community Support Application or write us a detailed letter, outlining the following:
  • Your organization contact information and the person who is the key contact for the request.
  • A description of your request, including the goal or purpose of your initiative/event/cause.
  • Details on what other organizations or sponsors are involved.
  • Details on the recognition that will be provided to CVCU and other supporters?
  • The amount requested by CVCU and the total cost of your initiative or event.
  • The date the funding is required.

Email your application or letter to reception@cvcu.bc.ca, or you can drop off it off at the branch.

We will review and consider every application. As you complete your application or letter, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• We are always looking to give to initiatives or organizations that support and advance:
  • Children, youth and families in Golden and surrounding communities
  • The opportunity to affordably build a career and life in Golden and surrounding communities
  • Environmental stewardship and climate resilience, and other efforts that protect and enhance the nature and ecosystem around us here in the Columbia Valley.
• We will support events, the purchase of necessary equipment and/or fixed assets.
• You do not need to be a member of CVCU to apply for support.
• The following requests are not eligible:
  • Debt repayment
  • For-profit organizations
  • Political initiatives, events or organizations
  • Religious initiative, events or organizations
